New trial ordered in death that set off gang shootings

Inside the Crips: Life Inside L.A.'s Most Notorious GangFrom December 2008: New trial ordered in death that set off gang shootings | The Asheville Citizen-Times | citizen-times.com: "The move means Jarmaine Levar Allen, 31, could have to be tried a fourth time for the shooting of Crips kingpin Jody Stokes, whose 1995 death outside a now-defunct Des Moines bar triggered months of retaliatory shootings between rival Crips and Bloods. It also means Allen could be available to testify on behalf of another Des Moines man, David Flores, who claims he was wrongly convicted in a random shooting tied to Stokes' killing, attorneys say."
